The sovereign debt of Ukraine has reached a new high, surpassing 8 trillion hryvnias.
According to the Finance Ministry, the total government debt of Ukraine has climbed over 8 trillion UAH.
As of September 30, 2025, the combined sum of state and state-backed liabilities for Ukraine reached UAH 8,024.1 billion* ($194.2 billion), allocated as follows:
– Foreign obligations — UAH 6,063.2 billion (75.6%), translating to $146.8 billion.
– Internal obligations — UAH 1,960.9 billion (24.4%), equating to $47.5 billion.
