Ukraine will stop producing
Ukraine will halt the manufacture of “cognac” and will substitute it with “brandy.”

The creation of cognac within Ukraine will be discontinued at the start of the coming year, Forbes indicates.

Due to the Association Agreement binding Ukraine and the EU, starting in January of 2026, Ukrainian makers of “cognac” must relabel their product as “brandy.”

It is worth noting that cognac is a specific form of brandy originating from the Cognac region of France, adhering to stringent regulations.
