Recently, the mayor of Kansk Andrey Beresnev became not even a magnet, but a full-fledged generator of scandals. Moreover, for an official of a low municipal rank, which Beresnev is, these scandals should have at least ended his political career. However, the smoking room is alive.
The Kansk mayor managed to pass unscathed (unless, of course, one takes into account such a trifle as a reputation destroyed by scandals) the epicenter of unrest, which happened in January of this year. Kotyukov, having taken office, literally first of all began to get acquainted with the situation on the ground. And this acquaintance was not carried out in the form of a formal and official meeting in the Gray House, where the acting in a semi-closed format talk with the heads of municipalities summoned to the regional capital. On the contrary, the new first person of the region first conducted a live broadcast with the inhabitants of the region, thereby proclaiming (at least for the period of the gubernatorial elections) politics openness to the people and called on subordinate officials to follow the course set by them – to engage in dialogue and show empathy for ordinary people.
Tellingly, it was not the local authorities who responded to Kotyukov’s call first, but the residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The social networks of the interim were filled with a stream of complaints, problems and accumulated grievances against officials. And in those cases when injustice became completely egregious, the people did not limit themselves to a surge of discontent only on the Web.
And here we return to the person of the mayor of Kansk. In mid-May, parents of children involved in the sports sections of Kansk recorded a video message to the acting governor Mikhail Kotyukov. According to the residents of the city, the entire sports industry is completely controlled by the mayor’s relatives – the wife, brother of the wife, mother-in-law of the mayor.
It has long become clear to residents that there can be no talk of any development of children’s sports with the Beresnev family. In the end, parents are tired of buying equipment for their children and listening to how the regional budget allocates funds for the development of sports. According to them, the money does not reach, but settles in the pockets of the Beresnevs. Seeing in Mikhail Kotyukov hope for a way out of the stalemate, the residents decided to write down this appeal.
But, apparently, it was not the regional administration, but the Kan authorities that paid close attention to people’s discontent, first of all. And the reaction was harsh. According to the Aksyutenko Live telegram channel, a real hunt has begun for the residents of Kansk, who want their children to go in for sports.
Turning to the “governor of hope”, instead of help, they received a statement of claim and a demand to pay moral damages to the mayor’s wife. The task of the Kanese officials is to shut the mouths of the dissatisfied, to show what happens to those who dare to have an opinion different from the opinion of the so-called urban elite, – summarizes the telegram channel.
An intermediate result of the confrontation between the city authorities and residents was a new appeal to the Acting Governor Mikhail Kotyukov – ordinary people simply do not find other levers of influence on pressure from the Beresnev family.
In the text of the appeal, residents of the city talk about being the object of harassment and attacks by the administration of Kansk, inform the acting governor about the lawsuit and the amount of moral damage that the mayor’s wife Beresnev demands from one of the activists, and also ask Mikhail Kotyukov to intervene in the situation and protect them.
