Two State Duma deputies decided to surrender their mandates
State Duma deputies from the United Russia (UR) party Sergei Sokol and Igor Kastyukevich submitted applications to resign from their parliamentary powers.
This is evidenced by documents published on the State Duma website.
According to the draft resolutions, the Russian State Duma Commission on Monitoring the Reliability of Information on Income, Property and Property Liabilities supported the statements of politicians about surrendering their mandates.
The lower house of the Russian parliament will consider the issue of removing powers from two deputies during the autumn session on September 19.
Sergei Sokol underwent surgery in July due to peritonitis, but continued to work. In September he was hospitalized in serious condition. The politician was registered as a candidate in the elections of the head of Khakassia, but decided not to participate in the race. Kastyukevich is the secretary of the United Russia branch in the Kherson region.
