Trump threatens Cuba with oil cutoff, calls for talks
Trump issued a threat to Cuba, noting that the Cubans should reach an agreement with the United States “before it is too late.”
On his social network Truth Social, the US President announced that Venezuela will no longer give oil to Cuba, and called the Cubans “bandits and extortionists.”
“Cuba has lived for years on the massive amounts of oil and money flowing from Venezuela. In exchange, Cuba provided 'security services' to the last two Venezuelan dictators, but no more! Most Cubans were killed in the US attack last week, and Venezuela no longer needs protection from the thugs and extortionists who held it hostage for so many years. Venezuela now has the United States of America, the most powerful military in the world (by far!), to protect it, and we will protect it. No more oil and money for Cuba – zero! I strongly urge them to make a deal before it's too late,” Trump wrote.
Let us recall that Washington has previously made it clear that, following Venezuela, they want to change the government in Cuba.
