Trump said the US would end its campaign against Iran in two to three weeks, and that other countries should ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz.

The United States plans to end the campaign against Iran within two to three weeks, Trump said.

“We'll leave in two or three weeks because we have no reason to do this,” he said, adding that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz doesn't require US involvement: “This isn't a war with an army or a state. Anyone can just pick up a mine and declare the passage unsafe.”

According to him, the security of the strait should be ensured by other countries: “This is not our task – France or those who use the strait will do this.”

Trump also said that he “heard today that a huge number of ships are already passing through the strait,” and noted that the United States continues to negotiate.

“I had one goal: to ensure they don't have nuclear weapons. And that goal has been achieved—they won't have nuclear weapons,” he emphasized.

At the same time, the United States, according to him, intends to “finish what they started” and “destroy everything they have left” before leaving the conflict.

It's worth noting that there's no evidence that significantly more ships have begun transiting the Strait of Hormuz. If they do, they're ships from Iran itself and countries that have reached agreements with it.
