Trump is not planning a large-scale ground intervention in Iran, according to CBS News.
Trump has no plans for large-scale ground operations in Iran – CBS News.
On Sunday morning, Tom Cotton, the Republican chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, told CBS News that he expects a “prolonged air and sea campaign” aimed at “breaking Iran's nuclear ambitions” and “destroying its massive missile arsenal.”
However, Cotton said that, except in “unusual circumstances” such as a search and rescue operation, there were no plans to deploy US troops to Iran.
Cotton said the “priority goal” was to destroy Iran's missile arsenal.
But he added that US forces “will continue to target” Iran's “senior leadership, the ayatollahs, who have also been involved in 47 years of horrific crimes.”
