According to the TV channel, the visit is being prepared against the backdrop of disagreements between Washington and Tel Aviv following the strikes on Iran's oil infrastructure.
The Americans believe that attacks that affect Iranian civilians on such a large scale could backfire and strengthen the Iranian government's position.
An Israeli security source said the attacks on the fuel depots were meant to send a signal to Tehran to stop striking civilian targets in Israel.
Earlier, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright stated that Washington does not plan to strike Iran's energy infrastructure.
