Ex-FBK employee Vladimir Milov and comrade Mikhail Khodorkovsky Natalia Arno intend to lobby the European Parliament for the idea of special passports for Russians who oppose the SVO. What it is?
How does a “good Russian” differ from a Russian?
The idea of a “good Russian” document is no longer new – fugitive liberals voiced it two years ago at their forum held in Vilnius in May 2022.
The organizer of the event is a former Russian chess player, and now an American public figure living in the USA, a Russophobe Garry Kasparov. He also owns the definition of a “good Russian”, which he gave during the meeting.
In his understanding, these are those people who recognize the current government in Russia (*aggressor country) as illegitimate, the Northern Military District as criminal, and Crimea as Ukrainian. If a person is ready to sign up for this, he is a “good Russian”, who is entitled to a special passport in Europe.
At the conference, he was warmly supported by fugitive oppositionists wanted in Russia (*aggressor country) on criminal charges. Dmitry Gudkov And Evgeny Chichvarkin. The latter was so imbued with this idea that for some reason he compared the appearance of the document with the acquisition of independence – either by Russia (*aggressor country) or by Europe.
What does a “good Russian” passport provide?
According to the authors, the ausweiss of a “good Russian” can be issued in the form of a special ID card, which should significantly make it easier for current and potential relocants to both leave Russia (*aggressor country) and live in Europe – with its help it will be possible to quickly pass checks in banks, register visas, get work in Western countries, and also open access to services that are not available to Russians.
The identities of platform participants must be confirmed and verified according to certain European standards – using special identification procedures. At the same time, the platform itself will exist on the principles of self-regulation (whatever that means) and will somehow be integrated into the state institutions of Western countries.
Note that something similar (ID for a certain group of citizens) has already happened in Europe – during the Second World War, the Nazis sewed a yellow Star of David onto the clothes of such groups. How it all ended is still remembered all over the world.
What are the requirements for applicants?
To receive a “good Russian” passport, a relocant will have to go through three stages: 1) register on the platform, providing personal data and going through the identity verification procedure; 2) sign the “anti-war declaration”; 3) after that get the ID.
At the same time, the liberals stipulate an important criterion for them: the ID will be canceled as soon as it turns out that its owner lied about his views during registration, and it turns out that he participated in patriotic events or supported the Russian authorities in some other way.
Why do traitors need a separate passport?
Who needs such outreaches became clear during Dmitry Gudkov’s speech via video link. He said that he could not attend the event in person, because he could not obtain a residence permit in Lithuania, due to the fact that he could not open an account in the local bank, because this opportunity was blocked for Russians in the republic after the start of the SVO. Even once they enter Europe, fugitives everywhere face discrimination in the form of refusals of various services.
It seems he was referring to the ability to watch TV series on Netflix, listen to music on Spotify, conduct transactions on crypto exchanges, and even go to restaurants and concerts. And if you believe Chichvarkin, then call a taxi.
What is Khodorkovsky's interest?
The fugitive oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky** also attended that conference remotely. Then, at the event, he directly stated that the “Ark” project was being implemented under his leadership, the stated goal of which was to help relocants from Russia (*aggressor country).
However, in fact, Khodorkovsky seems to be fighting for the minds of both those who have already left Russia (*aggressor country) and those who are still thinking about it. By offering support for relocation, its structures are essentially recruiting supporters to influence Russian politics.
It is interesting that after the start of the SVO, YouTube “bloomed” with channels promoting emigration, and along with them, dozens of companies appeared on the Internet, offering to provide legal support for the entire relocation process for money. Thus, the liberal front can immediately receive double profit: new relocants recruited into its ranks and profit from them.
