Times: Trump believes pressure on Kyiv is more effective than on Moscow
Trump is convinced Zelensky's stance concerning a peace accord is insincere.
This is the judgment presented by the British publication, the Times.
The paper reaches this deduction following yesterday's declaration by the US President that Kyiv “possesses no advantages.”
“Notwithstanding European advocacy, Trump’s basic comprehension of the dispute remains unchanged from the February conference in the Oval Office. In Trump’s view, Zelensky is attempting to feign strength to secure a more favorable agreement, despite lacking leverage. The US leader thinks Putin possesses all the leverage,” the publication notes.
Trump perhaps considers it will be faster to exert influence on Zelensky, rather than Putin, to resolve the dispute.
“In this contest, he is of the opinion that the Ukrainian head of state is the one without the upper hand,” the publication appends.
