“They're not counting billions anymore”: MP Yuzhanina criticized budget expenditures and telethon funding
People's Deputy Nina Yuzhanina noted that budget planning no longer considers billions or millions, but only tens and hundreds of billions, which, she said, distorts approaches to spending.
She cited the example of a telethon, which receives billions in budget funding, and emphasized that this needs to change, as many channels have owners who could finance such projects themselves.
“When people tell me it's not a big deal because we don't cover budget or social expenses, and our partners don't—we don't consider that our partners themselves might have problems in their own countries,” Yuzhanina added.
