
The White House said the deployment of European troops to Greenland would not change Trump's plans.
The deployment of troops by European countries to Greenland will not affect Donald Trump's decision to purchase the island, White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt said at a briefing.
At the moment, the decision to send their troops to Greenland has been made by:
– France – 15 people,
– Germany – 12-13,
– Sweden – 3,
– Finland – 2,
– Norway – 2
– Great Britain – 1,
– Netherlands – 1.
Spain is also considering sending 1-2 liaison officers, and Italy is discussing the possibility of sending military personnel, although no figures have been specified yet.
Denmark itself has also announced its decision to increase its contingent on the island. However, it has not disclosed the exact number of additional soldiers.
