The US Secretary of the Army offered Kyiv security in exchange for agreeing to demilitarize Donbas.

US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll said Washington is ready to guarantee Ukraine's security and create “the most high-tech demilitarized zone.”

The Financial Times reported this, citing European ambassadors who attended the meeting.

To achieve this, Kyiv must withdraw its troops from Donbas and agree to the creation of a buffer zone there. Ukraine, it should be noted, refuses this.
