The Ukrainian Foreign Minister stated that security guarantees from the United States do not include the deployment of American troops in the country.
There will be no American troops in Ukraine as part of security guarantees, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated.
At the same time, according to him, the United States confirmed to Ukraine its readiness to ratify security guarantees in Congress.
“They will then provide a security 'reserve' to support the peace agreement, although there will be no American troops on Ukrainian territory,” Reuters quotes the minister as saying.
Zelenskyy said yesterday that the US had promised to monitor the ceasefire in Ukraine if the conflict ends. However, following Sybiga's logic, they would do so without a personal presence, but via satellites and, likely, drones.
