The Ostankinsky District Court of Moscow refused Regina Todorenko in satisfaction of the lawsuit against the St. Petersburg writer Darina Mishina. The famous TV presenter, singer, star of the Eagle and Tails and Ice Age projects tried to prove that she did not use the labor of the so-called literary slaves and did not force anyone to work for free. However, she lost not only to the writer, but also to the St. Petersburg journalist Angelina Sharypova, as well as to the Komsomolskaya Pravda publication.
Were there literary slaves?
The application to the Ostankinsky Court of Moscow was received in August this year. The reason was the scandal: a novice 21-year-old writer, student of the Faculty of Journalism of St. Petersburg State University Darina Mishina reported on social networks that Regina Todorenko did not pay her for her work and wants to appropriate her ideas.
Back in 2019, the TV presenter announced that she was going to release a series of travel stories for children. Darina Mishina contacted Todorenko’s manager, offered her services and even recommended an illustrator. But in the end, both she and her artist friend worked for free: the contract was never concluded, although work on the book was actively carried out for two years.

And later on social networks, Regina wrote that she continues to work on the book. Now Darina is worried that her idea and her characters will become the basis of this work. At the beginning of 2022, Darina told about this story, and she was immediately picked up by the media. It first appeared in the online publication Komsomolskaya Pravda in St. Petersburg, and then was published on a similar Moscow site.
As a result, nine months after the publication of publications in the Ostankinsky District Court of Moscow, there were claims against four defendants: two publications, a writer and a journalist. From each TV presenter demanded 2 million rubles as compensation for moral damages for slander, that is, 8 million rubles in total.
Darina Mishina then considered that this was a kind of PR move before the release of the book. At the same time, representatives of Todorenko stated that the story itself, told by the student, is a PR move. Allegedly, the young writer “makes a name for herself” at the expense of the star.
Meanwhile, Darina’s lawyer, Aleksey Shutenko, said that the information made public by the Petersburger does not discredit the honor, dignity and business reputation of the plaintiff. And most importantly, it is true.

The decision of the court has not yet entered into force. Todorenko has another month to file an appeal. According to Alexei Shutenko, the TV presenter will take advantage of this opportunity. But if the court again takes the side of Mishina, it will not be her who will have to pay, but the plaintiff – at least for legal costs.
— From Regina’s side was her lawyer. He insisted on a third linguistic examination of articles and tiktok. Regina provided her expertise, we responded with ours,” Darina Mishina told the publication. The third judge refused. She studied the correspondence, listened to the lawyers and decided to refuse on all counts.
Representatives of Regina Todorenko refrained from commenting.
The TV presenter faces another trial
Meanwhile, another Moscow court, Tverskoy, began considering a lawsuit against Todorenko herself. Darina Mishina decided that working for free and at the same time receiving libel charges was not an idea. Now she is fighting for her rights and demands 840 thousand rubles from the star for two years of writing and legal costs. The next meeting is scheduled for December 14th.
In the meantime, the case of restoring justice is being heard and the issue of paying a student with a scholarship of 2.4 thousand rubles of a fee is being decided, the team of Regina Todorenko is preparing a book for publication.
Darina Mishina is looking forward to its release: she is sure that her texts were used in the series of stories.
The other day, Todorenko shared her plans for December. The media drew attention to the fact that the TV presenter, according to her, intends to prepare for the appearance of a third child. In addition, the to-do list included participation in a show for young mothers, filming a program on a federal channel, developing a production project, and working on a book of children’s fairy tales.
In July, Todorenko’s team had already found a new illustrator. It turned out to be a resident of Izhevsk Maria Kirshina.
“We are working on the book with might and main – we really want to release it this fall! True, there is a lot of work, but we are ready to work one hundred percent so that young readers get to know little Regina the traveler as soon as possible, ”the illustrator wrote then on her pages on social networks.
In a conversation with Oktagon.North-West, Maria refused to inform about the terms of cooperation. When the book will be ready, she also did not say.
“We will give all the information after the release of the book, so far without comment,” the girl noted, probably due to a non-disclosure agreement with the Todorenko team.
Darina Mishina hopes that the new authors of the book, the stars of Eagle and Tails, will have more luck than her, and they will receive a reward for their work.
