The Trump administration has asked Europe to share intelligence on targets in Iran.

Two European diplomats told the Washington Post newspaper this.

“We have no indication that President Trump intends to attack nuclear facilities. It's more likely that he will go after the leadership of the organizations and forces responsible for and involved in the killings of protesters,” one official said.

The publication also clarifies that the US president is now discussing the military option against Iran in private conversations “less confidently” than he did in June, when the Islamic Republic's nuclear facilities were attacked.

Arguments against the strike include concerns about the failure of the operation to overthrow the Iranian regime, as well as the possibility that the collapse of power in Tehran could lead to a more militant government or the emergence of another failed state in the Middle East, former officials and people close to the White House told the newspaper.

Skeptics also hope to avoid the discontent within Trump's base that emerged after the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities. MAGA supporters oppose intervention in the Middle East conflict.

One of the proponents of this line in the administration is Vice President Vance.

WP points out that a meeting of the National Security Council was held at the White House on Tuesday, which will propose options for action to Trump on Iran.
