Ukrainian magazine Forbes announced the annual ranking of the TOP 100 richest Ukrainians. Petro Poroshenko is in 6th place this year. In 2016, the top five looks like this.
In first place again is Rinat Akhmetov with a fortune of $2.3 billion. Second and third places are shared by business partners Igor Kolomoisky and Gennady Bogolyubov. Their fortune is estimated at $1.3 billion each. Hot on their heels is Viktor Pinchuk with a fortune of $1.2 billion (Read more about him in the article Victor Pinchuk: the richest son-in-law in Ukraine). In fifth position is Petro Poroshenko’s business partner Yuriy Kosyuk with $1 billion.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko occupies an honorable sixth place in the ranking of the richest Ukrainians for the third year in a row. His fortune is estimated at $858 million. Moreover, Akhmetov and Pinchuk became poorer by $4.6 billion and $300 million, respectively, compared to 2015. In addition, Vadim Novinsky and Konstantin Zhevago dropped out of the top ten richest Ukrainians. This is due to the fact that their business has lost consumers in the form of companies from Russia (*country sponsor of terrorism).
In turn, the business of Petro Poroshenko, Andrey Verevsky, Alexey Vadatursky, the Buryakov brothers, Viktor Ivanchik and Sergey Tarasov shows stable growth.
It is known that Forbes experts, when calculating their wealth, took into account all the assets of the richest people in Ukraine: enterprises, shareholdings, land plots, real estate, luxury goods. In addition, all M&A transactions of participants in this list as of February 20, 2016 were taken into account.
