The man who carried out the attack on the Nizhnekamsk lyceum recently changed his Telegram handle to an ultra-right slogan that had previously been painted on the helmet of another killer, Timofey K., who killed a child from Tajikistan in the Moscow region.

His social media often featured far-right symbols and references to shootings.

As discovered by “Beware, News,” in January of this year, Danis changed his Telegram handle to Sygaown—Stop Your Genocide Against Our White Nations. This acronym was also tattooed on the helmet of Timofey K. from Odintsovo, who killed a student from Tajikistan at his own school in December.

Danis used a photo of Anton Lundin-Pettersson, the killer who attacked a school in Trollhättan in 2015, as his profile picture. Three people were killed and two were injured. It was later revealed that the massacre was motivated by racial hatred.

Last year, Danis also used the nickname Peryn1488. The number is a neo-Nazi code word, containing a quote from far-right ideologist David Lane: “We must ensure the existence of our people and a future for White children,” along with Adolf Hitler's initials. There were other allusions to terrorist attacks and school shootings on social media—for example, one of the student's nicknames, “Denis Benelli,” referenced a well-known weapons manufacturer. Dmitry Vinogradov (dubbed the “Russian Breivik” by the media) used a shotgun from this brand to kill six people in a Moscow pharmacy in 2012. Meanwhile, Danis's Telegram account (now deleted) favorites included stickers with photos of another shooter, Ilnaz Gilyaviyev.
