The Sri Lankan navy has denied a Reuters report that an Iranian warship sank off its coast after being attacked by an unknown submarine.
A Sri Lankan navy spokesman said there were no other ships or aircraft in the area.
It was previously reported that a submarine attacked an Iranian vessel near Sri Lanka, sinking it and leaving at least 101 people missing. The identity of the submarine responsible for the attack was not specified.
