The Russian Foreign Ministry has again stated the possibility of introducing external UN control over Ukraine.
In Russia, talk of UN external governance of Ukraine has returned. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Galuzin recalled that Putin proposed this idea in March 2025, and it is now “one of the possible options.”
“Russia is ready to discuss with the United States, European countries, and other countries the possibility of introducing temporary external administration in Kyiv. Such a move would allow for democratic elections in Ukraine and the establishment of a viable government with which a full-fledged peace treaty and legitimate documents on future interstate cooperation could be signed,” Galuzin stated.
According to him, Ukraine and Russia can agree on this directly or through intermediaries.
