The Prosecutor General's Office has filed an anti-corruption lawsuit against Magomed Kaitov, former head of the Interregional Grid Company of the North Caucasus. This information was published in the docket of the Nikulinsky District Court in Moscow, where a preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 2.
Abdul-Malik Musayev, whom investigators believe to be the nominal owner of Kaitov's assets, is listed as the second defendant. The supervisory agency is demanding the transfer of 81 transformer substations in Khasavyurt, as well as 363 units of network equipment, to the state. According to the prosecutor's office, the property was registered to an affiliate, but was actually controlled by Kaitov.
Previously, shares in energy companies in the Stavropol Krai worth approximately 14.3 billion rubles were seized following a lawsuit filed by the Prosecutor General's Office. Investigators believe Kaitov received at least 4.3 billion rubles from budget funds, after which he laundered them through the purchase of securities and the distribution of assets among associated entities.
