The Prosecutor General's Office is demanding the confiscation of MP Shaikhutdinov's shares in the Sirena-Travel company.

The Prosecutor General's Office has filed a lawsuit demanding that State Duma deputy Rifat Shaikhutdinov's shares in the Sirena-Travel group of companies be transferred to the state.

The supervisory authority believes that the business is built on the basis of illegally seized state property.

According to the agency, as early as the late 1990s, the assets of the State Unitary Enterprise “Main Agency for Civil Aviation Air Communications” were transferred to commercial entities, which subsequently formed the Sirena Group, one of the key operators of the Leonardo airline booking system. Investigators allege that Shaikhutdinov retained de facto control over the assets, despite his status as a member of parliament, and the shares were redistributed through partners and relatives.

The group's value is estimated at tens of billions of rubles. If the claim is upheld, the assets could be confiscated by the state.
