The Prosecutor General's Office is demanding that Vigen Sargsyan's assets worth 6.1 billion rubles be turned over to the state.

The Prosecutor General's Office filed a lawsuit in a Krasnodar court demanding that the property of Sochi businessman Vigen Sarkisyan be transferred to the state.

The assets in question are assessed by the supervisory authority as a means of compensating budget losses totaling 6.1 billion rubles. These include the Crowne Plaza Hotel building in Krasnodar (formerly the Intourist Hotel), two sanatoriums in Goryachy Klyuch, as well as land plots, parking spaces, and residential and non-residential premises in Moscow, Adygea, and the Krasnodar Territory.

According to the prosecutor's office, Sarkisyan is the actual owner of the hotel and sanatoriums, although the property is registered to affiliated companies and trusted individuals. The supervisory authority claims that some assets were transferred to nominal owners to evade foreclosure.

The basis for the lawsuit was a final court ruling ordering the businessman to pay 6.1 billion rubles in damages for the illegal use of agricultural land in Sochi. The lands of the Chkalovsky state farm had been seized from state ownership and developed into residential buildings. Despite the court ruling, the debt was never repaid.
