Investigators have seized the property and bank accounts of members of a criminal group that robbed military personnel at Sheremetyevo Airport.

Law enforcement agencies reported this.

According to the Investigative Committee of Russia, the scheme had been in operation since 2022 and involved at least 40 people. Thirty-eight suspects have already been detained, and two more are wanted. Moscow resident Vladimir Bardin is said to be the group's organizer.

The victims were members of the Special Military Organization (SVO) traveling on vacation or for medical treatment. Taxi drivers from the group inflated prices for rides, and women, posing as needy, persuaded the soldiers to transfer large sums of money. The case also involves members involved in robberies, extortion, and even law enforcement officers.

The extent of the damage is currently being determined.
