The recycling fee could become even stricter starting April 1. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is proposing to revise the rules for importing cars from EAEU countries.
Currently, foreign cars imported from Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan are exempt from recycling fees if they are imported for personal use.
The new rules propose equalizing the import of foreign cars for personal use and for sale—meaning that recycling fees will be paid in any case, making cars even more expensive.
