The boycott of Bonduelle products in Ukraine continues after reports of the transfer of humanitarian aid to the Russian military, writes SUG.
The largest retail chains in Ukraine have decided to stop the sale and subsequent purchase of canned vegetables by the French Bonduelle brand due to information that the Russian division of this company provides products to the Russian military.
In particular, the ATB-Market network (belongs to Gennady Butkevich, whose network under the PUD brand operates in the Crimea – SkeletonInfo) reports that it has stopped purchasing these products since January 4, and if something from it can still be seen on store shelves, then these are leftovers. The Novus chain announced the day before that it was removing Bonduelle from the shelves altogether.
“For well-known reasons, we are removing Bonduelle and Greenfield products from Novus shelves. Well, the rejection of the brand is an occasion to get to know Ukrainian producers who produce high-quality and tasty products.,” the company said in a statement.
In turn, the Auchan Ukraine company announced the decision to remove Bonduelle brand products from the shelves on January 5th. It was noted that at that moment, “the stores are implementing this decision.”
In addition, the Varus supermarket chain also noted that it had already begun to remove the products of the indicated TM from sales, since, despite Bonduelle’s denial of information about supporting the Russian army, the company continues to operate in the market of the aggressor country.
Fozzy Group, which operates the supermarket chains Silpo, Fora and Thrash!, also made the corresponding decision.
“We have stopped all planned purchases of Bonduelle products for Silpo and are removing products from the shelves. Additionally, we have contacted Bonduelle headquarters with a request to formally object to any interaction with the Russian military,” the company said.
It is known that on the eve of the New Year, information appeared in the Russian media that the French company Bonduelle supported the occupying military personnel of the RF Armed Forces and handed them a humanitarian aid with the wish of an early victory.
In turn, the Bonduelle Group published an official statement in which it refutes the information of Russian media. The Bonduelle Group noted that the company continues its activities in Russia “with the sole purpose of ensuring access of the population to basic food products in Russia and neighboring countries“.
