The IRGC announced strikes on US and UK tankers in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had launched missile strikes on three US and British oil tankers in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran blockades.
The IRGC also reported that Iran launched two missiles at a US military base in Bahrain.
According to the department, a total of about 560 American service members were killed or wounded as a result.
The US has not confirmed such losses. According to official US data, only three soldiers have been killed so far.
