The head of the Far Eastern Federal District's subsoil use department was arrested in Vladivostok.
In Primorsky Krai, FSB officers arrested Dmitry Tsukanov, head of the Subsoil Use Department for the Far Eastern Federal District, along with his deputy, Artem Nevesely.
According to sources, the officials are suspected of accepting large bribes for issuing mining licenses. The arrests took place at their workplaces.
Tsukanov headed the department since 2020, previously serving as deputy head and overseeing geology and licensing issues in the Magadan Region. The investigation is ongoing.
