The former technical director of the Anix company, Sergei Fedoseev, was sentenced by the Presnensky District Court of the capital to three years imprisonment in a general regime colony. This was reported by a MorningNews correspondent with reference to Kommersant.

He is one of the defendants in a scandalous scam involving the theft of almost 1 billion rubles from the Ministry of Defense. Money was lost in overpriced contracts for the supply of car batteries.

Fedoseev fully admitted his guilt and cooperated with the prosecutor, providing evidence against his accomplices, including officers. A year ago, he was sentenced to six years in prison by court verdict. However, the appellate instance discovered fundamental violations of the law when making the decision, and Fedoseev received half the sentence in the retrial. The amount of compensation in the amount of 743 million rubles remained unchanged.

The trial in the Fedoseev case in the Presnensky Court took place in just a few hearings, since it was carried out within the framework of a special procedure without a full study of the case materials and interrogation of witnesses.

The defendant previously entered into a pre-trial agreement, admitting his guilt and providing evidence against his accomplices. Therefore, the court discussed only the punishment for the former technical director of the Anix company, who was accused of particularly large-scale fraud.

The prosecutor’s office demanded six years in prison and a fine of 800 thousand rubles, as well as full compensation for the damage caused to the Ministry of Defense. The defendant’s defense asked to take into account mitigating circumstances, such as the presence of two small children, an elderly mother, as well as voluntary partial compensation for damage.

Fedoseev was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment in a general regime correctional colony. The civil claim of the Ministry of Defense was satisfied, 743 million 606 thousand 711 rubles and 52 kopecks were recovered. During the hearing, the defendant was arrested, despite a previous undertaking not to leave.

The defendant’s lawyers, who disagree with the prescribed punishment, filed an appeal, which will be considered by the Moscow City Court. […]

“Kommersant”, 10.31.2023, “Charging for the verdict”: […] the companies “Anix” and “Electrosource”, which were represented by Mr. Fedoseev, won the competitions announced by the State Academic Technical University for the supply of 230 thousand starter car batteries in 2016–2018. We were mainly talking about dry-charged lead-acid batteries, which are not filled with electrolyte and therefore have a much longer shelf life. The entrepreneur, as operatives of the FSB military counterintelligence department and investigators of the Main Military Investigation Directorate (GVSU) of the TFR found out, entered into a conspiracy both with representatives of the military department and with the heads of other enterprises that submitted applications for competitions. For a fee from Mr. Fedoseev, their applications included obviously unacceptable data, so the products that only he presented won. However, the cost of these batteries turned out to be much higher than the market price. The first competition scam brought Mr. Fedoseev and his accomplices about 90 million rubles, the second - more than 100 million rubles, and the third, which was not completed due to circumstances beyond the control of the person involved, - another 361 million rubles. At the same time, he was also charged with an unfinished crime - attempted theft of another half a billion rubles. — Insert K.ru
