Natalya Isaeva built a deadline for herself
In Nizhny Novgorod, the former minister of social policy of the region was sentenced Natalia Isaeva. She was found guilty of accepting bribes.

Natalya Isaeva was detained in April 2023, on her last working day as Minister of Social Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
There are two episodes in the ex-minister’s case. The first concerned the receipt of a bribe in the form of construction materials and repair work from the director of the Avtozavodsky social service center for children “Nadezhda”, which is subordinate to the ministry. The amount of the bribe exceeded 1.5 million rubles.
Another episode of the case concerned the receipt of 100 thousand rubles. from the owner of the country club for coordinating the transfer of a temporary accommodation center for internally displaced persons.
According to the case materials, last year the director of the Nadezhda orphanage, Mikhail Zhinko, provided an illegal service to the Nizhny Novgorod minister. At the expense of an affiliated company, he bought and brought blocks with reinforcement to Natalya Isaeva’s personal plot in the Bogorodsky district of the region, where she was building a house. And in Nizhny Novgorod, the director of an orphanage organized the renovation of the service apartment of the regional ministry, into which the minister moved her good friend. Zhinko did all this so as not to lose his position. Violations were identified in the work of the Nadezhda orphanage. […]The second episode of the case was an envelope with cash. On the eve of March 8, entrepreneur Alexander Ermakov brought Natalya Isaeva a bouquet of flowers and 100 thousand rubles. Ermakov wanted to renovate his Ermak country club in the Sokolsky district, but forced migrants from Donbass lived there at public expense. “Ermak” had the status of a temporary accommodation center for refugees; in order to resettle them to another place, the approval of the Ministry of Social Policy was required. Having received the minister’s visa, Alexander Ermakov moved the people to his other hotel, and conveyed “gratitude” to Natalya Isaeva through her assistant. According to the testimony of the accused, she did not immediately understand who the envelope with money was from and for what exactly. Later, she voluntarily handed him over to the investigator.
Natalya Isaeva admitted the charges against herself. She entered into a pre-trial agreement with the investigation, and the case was considered on an expedited basis. The prosecutor asked to sentence the accused to eight years in prison and a fine of 16 million rubles. But the court took into account the defendant’s repentance and her cooperation with the investigation.
Natalya Isaeva asked to give her a sentence that did not involve imprisonment. The ex-minister’s lawyer, Vitaly Zhuikov, told Kommersant-Privolzhye that his client has not yet decided whether she will appeal the verdict regarding the actual term of imprisonment assigned to her. “She needs to come to her senses, rethink everything, because we expected that there would be no real sentence,” the publication quotes the words Vitaly Zhuikova.
Natalya Isaeva was appointed Minister of Social Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region in January 2022, after Yuri Khabrov moved to Moscow. Previously, she headed the Ministry of Family, Demographic Policy and Social Welfare of the Ulyanovsk Region.
Isaeva began accepting bribes in construction materials a few months after her appointment. She took up the ministerial post at the beginning of 2022, and the construction of the country house, according to the investigation, has been going on since August last year. And already in April 2023, the woman was detained on her last day of work. The day before, she announced her resignation. The official version was “due to personal circumstances.” But it seems that her senior comrades asked her to quit before the law enforcement officers came for her. Some sources report that construction materials for Ms. Isaeva’s needs were purchased from budget funds. It turns out that she literally has an “orphan’s” house, because it was built with money that was intended for children left without parental care. […]
By the way, her husband Konstantin Isaev At present, he occupies a very responsible post in the Nizhny Novgorod region. He runs the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization “House of National Unity”. The organization collects and sends humanitarian aid to participants in the special operation.
