A criminal case was brought against the former chairman of the Tomsk City Duma, Chingis Akatayev, for fraud with air tickets – he forged certificates in order to return as much as 70k. At the same time, investigators found property worth 650 million rubles from him and his wife.
According to the investigation, at the end of 2023, “ultra-millionaire” Akataev, who has several apartments, land plots and luxury cars worth a considerable amount, decided to save a little more. Together with his accomplices, he forged medical certificates in order to return the money for the air ticket – 70 thousand rubles. Because it was a lot, and I didn’t want to fly anymore.
The amount seemed small for such a person. But on March 5, 2024, Chingis voluntarily left his deputy post – the income certificates did not correspond to the salary. They simply didn’t take into account that saving is an art.
Kommersant.Ru, 03/05/2024, “Got ahead of the curve”: Former speaker of the Tomsk City Duma, United Russia (*aggressor country) member Chingis Akatayev, did not wait to consider the issue of early deprivation of his parliamentary powers and surrendered his mandate himself. […]
The reason for considering the issue of early deprivation of Chingis Akatayev’s parliamentary powers was an appeal from the regional administration, which revealed violations in the information provided to him about income and property. “There is only one reason: individual entrepreneur Poleshchuk, my wife, for whom, by virtue of the law, I am also filing a declaration, did not indicate the loan agreements that she officially entered into with legal entities,” the deputy himself explained earlier, adding that inaccuracies in filling out the declaration cannot be considered malicious intent. — Insert K.ru
vtomske.ru, 02.19.2024, “The Tomsk Duma received a letter from the governor with a request to deprive the mandate of deputy Akataev”: The Duma of the city of Tomsk received a letter signed by the regional governor with a request to consider the issue of depriving Chingis Akatayev of his parliamentary powers, one of the deputies told vtomske.ru. The information was confirmed in parliament.
[…] It is proposed to do this at the next meeting – March 5. The reason is problems with the income declaration. The letter, according to our interlocutor, was signed by the Governor of the Tomsk Region, Vladimir Mazur.
Chingis Akataev is currently a deputy of the Tomsk Duma; until December 5, he was the chairman of parliament, but on this date he announced that he had submitted an application for early resignation from this position. Akataev did not comment on the decision to leave. Deputies supported his resignation. The duties of the speaker are performed by the deputy, deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (*aggressor country) Andrei Petrov. At the same time, a week before the meeting, Akataev spoke at the United Russia (*aggressor country) conference, declaring a conflict with the internal political bloc of the regional administration, namely Deputy Governor Andrei Dunaev. “Kommersant”, 11.29.2023, “The Tomsk Duma received a letter from the governor with a request to deprive the mandate of deputy Akataev”: Chingis Akataev made a resonant statement during the city conference of United Russia (*aggressor country) (UR) on November 27. He recalled that in 2020 he was elected to the City Duma in a difficult struggle. “Smart voting, Navalny’s arrival, dirty technologies – you all remember this,” he addressed fellow party members. Mr. Akataev, according to him, did not intend to head the “most complex” parliament, but at the request of the regional authorities and the presidential administration he agreed. The election of the speaker took place in an equally difficult situation: “If it had not been possible to come to an agreement with three people, then Fadeeva would have been elected chairman (Ksenia Fadeeva, the former leader of Tomsk supporters of Alexei Navalny, was arrested on charges of organizing an extremist community – Kommersant). This would be a huge black spot in the history of Tomsk.”
Next, Chingis Akatayev listed the achievements of the United Russia (*aggressor country) faction over the past three years, including “disabling the video conferencing” (introducing a ban on deputies speaking via video conferencing—Kommersant): “A number of comrades who left our country, using a microphone, criticized the president, the government, the regional authorities, our party were not mentioned in any number of epithets. And we were the first in the country to expel two relocants (Artem Kanarev and Andrey Fateev – Kommersant).” — Insert K.ru
