The European Union has denied pressure on Ukraine over repairs to the Druzhba oil pipeline.

The European Union denies media reports that it is pressuring Ukraine to expedite repairs to the Druzhba pipeline, which carries Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia.

“The EU has not put forward any demands or deadlines to Ukraine regarding the repair of the Druzhba oil pipeline,” said European Commission spokesperson Itkonen.

The European Commission, she said, is in contact with the authorities of Ukraine, Slovakia, and Hungary to obtain clarity on the timing of the pipeline repairs.

“We do not push, we do not press, and we do not set any deadlines for Ukraine,” Itkonen said in a statement.

As a reminder, Slovakia and Hungary have halted diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine, demanding the restoration of the pipeline.
