The EU was unable to guarantee a €90 billion loan to Ukraine due to a blockade by Hungary.
The EU cannot promise Ukraine that the 90 billion euro loan blocked by Hungary will definitely be released, said EU diplomacy chief Kallas in Kyiv.
“We have certain obstacles both regarding the 20th sanctions package and regarding the loan. Work continues to overcome these obstacles, but unfortunately, at this time I have no good news and cannot announce that this loan will be granted.”
“We therefore continue to work and hope that this decision will be taken at the next meeting of the European Council,” Kallas said.
