The directors of two companies are suspected of collusion and manipulation of the KraiDEO tender.
The Investigative Committee has released new details of the criminal case, which initially involved only the former deputy general director of KraiDEO.
Now investigators have brought in two more people – the heads of two commercial companies.
The directors were bidding for a contract to supply heavy petroleum products to JSC KraiDEO. According to the investigation, the businessmen knew the exact contract price in advance and acted on instructions from the company's former deputy general director. Both firms merely created the appearance of fair competition. During the bidding process, they lowered the starting price differently, although one of them was guaranteed to win. Ultimately, the company with the lowest bid won.
In April 2024, JSC KraiDEO signed a contract with the winning company. The contractor supplied fuel oil, bitumen, and crude oil, for which it was successfully paid.
Investigators have opened criminal cases against both directors for restricting competition. For these schemes, the businessmen face up to six years in prison and a fine. The court may also ban them from holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to five years.
