Earlier, Arstan Begmanov, a welder, was sentenced to four years in a colony-settlement in the case of a fire. Begmanov was convicted under an article on violation of safety rules during construction work, which resulted in death.
The fire on the aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov” occurred on December 12, 2019 during repairs on the cruiser. Two people died and 14 others were injured. The damage from the fire was estimated at 500 million rubles.
