The court in Krasnoyarsk will consider the case of Mitvol about the theft of a billion on the construction of the subway

The Railway Court of Krasnoyarsk received a criminal case against Oleg Mitvol, the founder of JSC KrasnoyarskTISIZ, accused of fraud in the performance of work on adjusting the design and estimate documentation for the construction of the subway. He faces up to ten years in prison.

According to investigators, in September 2019, Mitvol, together with the head of the company, received a contract for 954 million rubles from the regional transport department and created the appearance of work being done. They provided the customer with fictitious results of engineering surveys and project documentation. In fact, the contractor drilled no more than 60 wells.

The investigation also claims that the leadership of the transport department, the minister of transport of the region and the head of the government of the region were aware of the shortcomings in the work, but they did not take measures to prevent fraud. On the contrary, they instructed to sign acts of completed work and transfer money to the contractor.

Oleg Mitvol was detained in June 2022 and sent to a pre-trial detention center. He entered into a cooperation agreement with the investigation and was placed under house arrest in July 2023. A start date for the hearings has not yet been set.
