The Maly Drama Theater (Theater of Europe), where there were performances with Danila Kozlovsky, was fined 15 thousand rubles in the case of unsanitary conditions after inspections by Rospotrebnadzor (RPN). Closing the theater for three months, as required by Rospotrebnadzor, was avoided: MDT will resume work. Most of the claims of the supervisory authority have already been eliminated, however, some claims are difficult to correct. So, the court missed the fluorography of Danila Kozlovsky, who took a vacation and left the theater before the end of 2023.
The Kuibyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg imposed an administrative fine on the Theater of Europe (MDT) in the amount of 15 thousand rubles under Part 1 of Art. 6.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (violation of the sanitary and epidemiological provision of the population). According to the press service of the courts, violations were found in the labeling of food and cleaning equipment at the Maly Drama Theater, and the theater does not monitor staff vaccinations. In total, Rospotrebnadzor inspectors identified 28 violations in the theater, for 17 of which the deadline for elimination is a day, as a representative of the MDT stated in court. By the time of the meeting, most of the violations had been eliminated, so the court decided not to extend the temporary suspension of the theater for three months, as RPN wanted. The court presented evidence of the removal of clutter and confirmed that six of the seven employees indicated in the RPN protocol had fluorography results. Only Danila Kozlovsky does not have it: the artist himself earlier announced that he was going on a sabbatical after several of his performances were rescheduled, and the Moscow prosecutor’s office began checking the artist’s statements to discredit the Russian army.
At a meeting on May 17, RPN representative Tatyana Lanko repeated all 28 claims of the department to the theater and reprimanded the MDT defender for her “formal attitude” to the rules for cleaning and storing food. Also, representatives of the department did not like the way the theater stores tools for cleaning the building, and the lack of instructions for cleaning staff on how to use detergents. Specially for the inspectors, the cleaning lady provided explanations to the court. Rospotrebnadzor pointed out that she could confuse buckets and mops, since they were not marked. An MDT employee explained how she distinguished them, and noted that she did not allow wiping the table with a floor cloth.
Rospotrebnadzor conducted an inspection at the theater on May 6 and revealed sanitary violations. For example, the lack of fluorography in seven employees and food leftovers in the canteen. The officials drew up an administrative protocol on the violation of the sanitary and epidemiological provision of the population. The inspection of the supervisory agency took place after Z-activists drew attention to the statements of the theater artist Danila Kozlovsky, who has been serving in the MDT for more than ten years and spoke out against the special operation in Ukraine.
Earlier, the Moscow prosecutor’s office began checking against the artist. The head of the Federal Project for Security and Combating Corruption, Vitaly Borodin, asked to check Kozlovsky under an article about discrediting the Russian army. Borodin accused the actor of relocating to the United States in order to “distance himself from Russia”, as well as alleged calls for Russians to go to protests and shout anti-government slogans.
