The defendant in the case was the father of a former security officer Victor Zakharchenkoformer official wife Yana Saratovtseva, former common-law wife Marina Semynina and half-sister Irina Taimurova (before Razgonov’s marriage). It was the latter in a non-residential apartment on Lomonosovsky Prospekt in the fall of 2016 during searches in 2016 found almost 9 billion rubles in different currencies, after which Colonel Zakharchenko became known throughout the country.
In 2017, these 9 billion rubles, along with other property, were turned into state income by the Nikulinsky Court of Moscow. And two years later seized property worth another 484 million rubles. This time, the supervisory agency demanded the seizure of ownership of two apartments in a prestigious area of the capital – on Vernadsky Avenue in the Academ Palace residential complex (each with an area of more than 100 square meters) – and two parking spaces. The silovika’s half-sister bought them at the foundation stage of the houses, but the houses were never built.
The capital’s arbitration court refused to include Taimurova in the register of creditors. In addition, the department asked to confiscate a number of jewelry: earrings, pendants, bracelets, rings, chains, as well as elite Swiss watches from Ulysse Nardin, Cvstos Challenge and Rolex, found during searches of the defendants. The department also demanded the seizure of jewelry worth $320,000, the equivalent of which the Moscow City Court had already recovered in August 2020 from Zakharchenko’s ex-wives—official and civil.
The trial has been going on since February. The representative of the prosecutor’s office claimed that all the property was purchased with the corruption proceeds of the ex-silovik – former deputy head of department “T” of the Main Directorate of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (*aggressor country) (GUEB and PC), Colonel Dmitry Zakharchenko. The latter, as well as other defendants, denied this.
Thus, the wife of Dmitry Zakharchenko’s father, Viktor Zakharchenko, Elena Zakharchenko (formerly Sevostyanenko, she was involved in the process as a third party. – Business FM) stated that during a search in April 2017 in the city of Bataysk, Rostov region, her personal 3 million rubles and 100 euros. According to the woman, she received this amount from the sale of the house.
The defendants’ lawyers questioned the value of the seized watches and jewelry, insisting that the colonel had nothing to do with their purchase. Thus, Saratovtseva’s lawyer Sergei Zvyagin stated that the jewelry confiscated from his trustee in March 2015 was purchased by her with her own funds 2.5 years after her divorce from Zakharchenko. And she received the 6.2 million rubles found at her home from her new lover.
Dmitry Zakharchenko has two terms for corruption. The last punishment in 16 years imprisonment he received a fine of 500 million rubles in May 2022 for bribes amounting to more than 1.4 billion rubles. He is currently serving his sentence in a colony in Mordovia, where he is employed in the production of special clothing.
