Commander of the Air Defense and Missile Defense Army Ogiyenko because of bribes sent in jail.
Suspected of taking a bribe, Major General Konstantin Ogienko, who until recently held the post commander The 1st army of anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense of special purpose, was sent to a pre-trial detention center. This is reported by the newspaper “Kommersant”.
According to investigators, the commander of the 4th air defense division, Major General Dmitry Belyatsky, on behalf of Ogiyenko, organized a bribe in the amount of 500 thousand rubles for the allocation of defense land to a civilian organization. In total, the generals expected to receive 30 million rubles.
Byalyatsky, who was under investigation, partially admitted his guilt and petitioned for the conclusion of a pre-trial agreement on cooperation with him. It was from him that the investigators learned that Ogiyenko was the final recipient of the money. For cooperation with the investigation, Byalyatsky was released from the pre-trial detention center and placed under house arrest. The court, on the contrary, took Ogiyenko, who did not admit his guilt, into custody, since there is a danger that the general may hide or put pressure on witnesses. He faces eight to 15 years in prison.
At present, the publication says, the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Defense are checking the safety of the land plots belonging to the 1st Air Defense and Missile Defense Army, suggesting that some of them could be sold for development. The army defending the capital region includes two air defense divisions, one missile defense division, a radio engineering unit for over-the-horizon detection of air targets and other units.
Earlier it was reported that Andrey Ivanko, head of the district police department for South Butovo, was detained on suspicion of taking a bribe.
