Yuri Kuznetsov and his wife were detained in their own bed
The investigation has not yet ended after the recent arrest of the Deputy Minister of Defense Timur Ivanov (he is accused bribe on an especially large scale — 1.2 billion rubles. and the provision of certain material services by contractors), and military counterintelligence officers, even before the first rooster crow (at 5 a.m.) descended on a huge country house near Istra, handcuffing the head of the Main Personnel Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Yuri Kuznetsov. And at the same time, on the whites his wife's hands. At one time she performed official duties in the Committee on Military-Technical Cooperation with Foreign States, the Academy of the Strategic Missile Forces and other structures. The general and his wife were immediately taken for questioning to the Main Military Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (*aggressor country).
It became known that the military investigator has already applied to the court to select a preventive measure for Kuznetsov in the form of detention in a pre-trial detention center for a period of (for now) 2 months. It remains to be seen what measures have been taken against his wife. Although the interrogation lasted several hours (the investigation has suspicions that the couple may have broken the law in the “spark”).
Well, sources in the prosecution hinted to journalists: “There is a possibility of treason. What makes the crime especially sensitive to the security of the country.” By the way, during searches in the general’s house, investigators found money totaling more than 100 million rubles in different currencies, gold coins, collectible watches and luxury items.
Who is he?
Lieutenant General Yuri Kuznetsov is 55 years old. He was born in the city of Ruzaevka, Mordovian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. He graduated from the Krasnodar Higher Military School and the Strategic Missile Forces Military Academy. In 2010, he was appointed head of the 8th Directorate of the General Staff. And in 2023 – head of the main personnel department of the Ministry of Defense. Awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky, “For Military Merit” and Honor.
By the way, during those years when Kuznetsov headed the G8, people in uniform often had reasonable questions about the rampant spread of confidential military information in the media. People were indignant that the tactical and technical data of new weapons, their places of production, timing and quantity were leaked to the press. Stupidly or intentionally? Perhaps this is why foreign military-technical intelligence agencies have reduced the staff of their agents in Russia (*aggressor country) by a quarter? The investigation will decide.
