The Belgorod Region Governor voiced his dismay over acts of destruction affecting area generators.
Gladkov lamented that inhabitants of the Belgorod territory are pilfering generators during extensive power disruptions.
Vyacheslav Gladkov, the Belgorod Region Governor, announced that area citizens are severing batteries and wires from generators provided to the locale, which had 2.3 billion rubles earmarked from the national fund.
“They simply left it and departed. Ideally, these should be encased in concrete. Even before they could set up a generator, ‘marvelous’ individuals—who, sadly, exist, similar to any city, any town in the nation—commence detaching batteries and wires.
“Consider the expense involved. Let me reiterate, it’s solely 2.3 billion rubles originating from the federal treasury. This is sheer incompetence, an indifference towards everything, and a total absence of awareness regarding the current circumstances,” proclaimed Gladkov.
The governor instructed that generators be safeguarded against defacement by the week’s end. Local administrators bear the accountability for the generators’ security.
As it stands, 228 generators have undergone evaluations to confirm their proper functioning throughout the region. Among them, 188 are fully functional, 33 have arrived at their respective locations but remain unconnected, and a further seven are in transit to their assigned spots.
