The Basmanny Court refused to allow a notary to visit Timur Ivanov in the Lefortovo pretrial detention center.
Moscow's Basmanny Court upheld the investigator's refusal to allow a notary to visit former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov in the Lefortovo pretrial detention center.
A notary was needed to formalize powers of attorney—without them, Ivanov cannot participate in arbitration proceedings, including the bankruptcy case and the property seizure proceedings.
As a result, the former official is effectively deprived of the opportunity to defend his interests in civil and financial matters.
Let us remind you:
▪️ In 2025, Ivanov received 13 years in prison for embezzlement and money laundering.
▪️ His assets worth 1.2 billion rubles were seized.
▪️ He was declared bankrupt
▪️ He was also previously denied transfer to the SVO
He is now facing a new case involving bribes totaling over 1.3 billion rubles.
