The Armenian Foreign Ministry issued a statement against the backdrop of another worsening of relations with Azerbaijan
The country is committed to solving problems exclusively through diplomacy.
“The statements spread by Azerbaijan about any provocation on the part of Armenia are an absolute lie. The Republic of Armenia has no intentions to escalate the situation, but exactly the opposite: Armenia remains open to discussing the de-escalation mechanisms it previously proposed,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
This is happening against the backdrop of the gathering of Azerbaijani troops to the border in recent days, as well as rhetoric in the local media that calls for a “final solution to the problem in Karabakh.” Armenia says it is “ready to continue discussions with Azerbaijan in a diplomatic manner at the earliest opportunity.”
