Former Deputy Energy Minister of Russia Anatoly Tikhonov received a bribe of 227 million rubles for helping businessmen obtain government contracts. It is reported that the investigators established the fact that Tikhonov received a bribe through intermediaries. Funds of 227 million rubles were transferred to accounts in foreign banks. It is noteworthy that Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev also announced the detention of the Deputy Minister of Energy in the case of major theft during a government hour in the State Duma in the fall of 2022. Then the minister did not name the person involved in the cases. Anatoly Tikhonov himself was detained in September 2020 in a criminal case of embezzlement. He was later arrested and is currently in custody. The Investigative Committee reported that Tikhonov, his adviser Roman Ryzhkov, and two representatives of a commercial organization stole about 603 million rubles allocated for the creation of an information system. Tikhonov was appointed deputy head of the Ministry of Energy in the summer of 2019 and was relieved of his post in April 2021, only six months after his arrest. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
