The glow of fires is visible in the Iranian capital, and thick clouds of smoke are rising above the city. The strikes hit various areas of the city, including the area around Mehrabad Airport, where, according to eyewitnesses, a passenger plane was destroyed, as well as industrial areas in the east.
Local residents are posting footage of the night sky illuminated by flashes from explosions and air defense systems. Information on casualties and the extent of the damage is still being clarified.
