Taiwan's opposition Kuomintang leader Cheng Li-wun warned of the threat of war with China after meeting with Xi and called on all political forces on the island to engage in dialogue with Beijing to avoid such a war.
“This is a choice between peace and war. We cannot allow Taiwan and the Taiwan Strait to become a battlefield. I sincerely hope that all political parties in Taiwan will prioritize cross-strait relations above their partisan differences and work together to achieve peace. General Secretary Xi has just demonstrated this important goodwill,” Cheng Li-wong said in Beijing.
Let us recall that the leader of the Taiwanese opposition visited China for the first time in ten years.
