The Syrian Civil Defense, also known as the White Helmets, said the shelling by the Syrian regime and Russia of residential areas in the city of Sarmin in eastern Idlib killed several civilians, mostly children.
Rescuers reported that one child was killed and four others, including a baby, were injured by gunfire.
“One person died and four civilians, including two women, were injured on Thursday, March 23, the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan, as a result of artillery shelling by regime and Russian forces on residential areas and popular markets in the city Atarib and the villages of Al-Abzimo and Al-Jina in the western countryside of Aleppo.
The group confirmed that it had responded to approximately 110 attacks by the Syrian regime and Russia in northwestern Syria since the beginning of this year through April 8. The attacks killed four people, including a woman, and injured 28 people, including ten children and six women.
The areas targeted by the regime are also suffering from the effects of the two deadly earthquakes that rocked those areas on 6 February.
