Sweden and Ukraine formalized a pact for the procurement of Gripen E combat aircraft.
Sweden and Ukraine have inked a letter of intention, opening avenues for the transfer of Swedish Gripen E combat planes to Ukraine, as declared by Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.
“Volodymyr Zelenskyy and I have just put pen to paper on a letter of intent between Sweden and Ukraine. This marks the commencement of an extended process, yet it propels us nearer to a substantial export transaction for (Swedish defense manufacturer) Saab and Sweden with Ukraine,” Mr. Kristersson stated during a shared press briefing alongside Volodymyr Zelenskyy, aired live by the Swedish Government Office.
TV4 had previously indicated that Stockholm intends to vend 120 JAS 39 Gripen E combat planes to Kyiv.
