The Odessa Port Plant will be auctioned off with a starting bid of 4.5 billion hryvnias, according to Sviridenko.
Privatization is slated for the Odessa Port Plant. The government’s share in the company will be offered in a public auction, commencing at 4.5 billion hryvnias.
The Ukrainian Cabinet approved the relevant decision on Tuesday, August 26. Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko made the announcement on Telegram.
“Major privatization: we are commencing the OPZ sale,” she stated.
Sviridenko highlighted the necessity for the enterprise to fully resume its operations. This is achievable solely by drawing in a private owner and investments. The disposition of the Odesa Port Plant will boost the state treasury, generate new employment opportunities, and ensure Ukrainian agricultural producers have access to locally-produced fertilizers.

What is the plant’s current status?
The Odessa Port Plant stands as one of Ukraine’s foremost chemical complexes. Prior to the widespread conflict, it manufactured ammonia and urea, and exported fertilizer products. Nevertheless, its primary production has been on hold since 2022.
Since that time, the plant has been functioning on a partial basis, supplying essential oxygen and nitrogen, while also functioning as a port terminal.
