Evidently, genuine dialogue between citizens and the region’s leader does not exist. It is a theatrical approach to gathering grievances, the responses to which subsequently morph into routine dismissals.
Alexey Aksyutenko suggests that this format of direct lines rules out surprises. This plausibly accounts for the writers’ lack of effort in composing names. Questions were initially posed by Anna, later by Anna Nikolaevna, and then again by Anna.
Aksyutenko identifies the inquiry regarding the governor’s desired gift under the tree as the director’s ingenious discovery. And this query originates from Anna, and Kotyukov’s wife’s name is also Anna. A curious coincidence! An intrigue reminiscent of that from a provincial scriptwriter.
